The “Landini 130 hours Endurance”, an event organized by the Argo Tractors Industrial Group to celebrate the 130th anniversary of the Landini brand, one of the noblest and most glorious protagonist in agricultural tractor history and landmark for international agricultural machinery, ended up on October 11th at 3 p.m. meeting with an extraordinary success. The event started on Monday October 6th at 5 o’clock in the morning. In such a lapse of time, i.e. 130 hours, the “7-215” Landini tractor, powered by a 212 HP six-cylinder engine, has been driven non-stop on a circular track consisting of some very demanding off-road routes created by the sporting center “Sport Village il Ciocco”, in the province of Lucca, the same track used by rally drivers of many official automotive Teams to practice and by several motorcycle manufacturers willing to test their new enduro models in reserved way. A very difficult and selective route then. A track that the Landini tractor has covered non-stop for 130 hours without showing signs of collapse, notwithstanding the fact that more than 75 drivers amongst journalists from all over European countries, sponsors and Argo Tractors technical staff have alternated in driving the tractor, each one with his own driving style and capacity. An extremely varied and heterogeneous succession of pilots that made this test even more difficult and severe. At a technical level this test has actually and directly proven the overall reliability and sturdiness of this tractor, its easy-to-use features as well as the high level of comfort offered by the cab, a latest generation driving place designed according to the latest ergonomic criteria adopted in the automotive industry. The social aspect has been looked after by the promoting Industrial Group and sponsors who managed to create a charitable fund to be allocated to the schools of Fabbrico, in the province of Reggio Emilia, damaged by the earthquake in May 2012, and proportionate to the number of kilometers covered by the tractor during the test. At the end 992 km were officially covered in 171 laps at an average speed of 7,6km/h, which generated a contribution of about 8.000 euro that will be handed over to the Municipality of Fabbrico for the purpose above. Eight sponsors played a fundamental role in the event thus contributing towards making this event extremely successful. Fpt Industrial, ZF and Michelin, as main suppliers of engines, transmissions and tires fitted on the Landini “7” Series, attended the event with their own engineers in a dedicated paddock where the tractor could pit-stop for pilot change and checks. Other worldwide-renowned brands contributed to this outstanding result: Bosch Rexroth, as a main supplier for hydraulics and mechatronic components, Grammer and Denso, manufacturers of air-suspended seats and automatic air-conditioners, who decidedly contributed to provide utmost driving comfort. Adam Pumps provided all necessary systems aimed at refueling in a very precise and quick way with fuel and urea both test tractor and the two units used for training drivers. At the end it was up to the renowned winery Marchesi De’ Frescobaldi to award each driver a prize with a bottle of “Nipozzano Riserva” wine (only at the end of the test!!).
