The Grové family, comprising Manie and Heleen, and CJ and Janie, farms in the Lindley district in the Eastern Free State some 40 km from Reitz, 60 km from Bethlehem, and about 30 km from Petrus Steyn. The farm, Bankies, almost forms the centre between these three towns.
The family runs a mixed farming operation with three divisions focusing on potatoes, maize and cattle. The main focus, however, is on potatoes. “We use the tractors mainly for maize and potato cultivation, but they are also very reliable and suitable for general farm activities. We have various Landini models each suited to specific tasks, but all the different models offers comfort, performs well and meet our specific needs.”
Eight years ago, they started using Landini tractors on the farm and since then continued to forge their relationship with the Landini dealership, OVS Agri in Reitz. “OVS Agri provides an excellent service and the staff always goes the extra mile to assist with enquiries or help with parts when needed,” says Heleen Grové.
The family now prefers to use Landini tractors because of the reliability of the tractor models as well as the low maintenance cost to keep the tractors in working condition. They also feel that the pricing structure when purchasing a new model is very fair.
