Hannes de Vos and his brother Henno farm in the Kroonstad area near Steynsrus in the Free State. Hannes farms under the name Danelle Trust on the farm Welgevonden with maize, sunflower, cattle and game. Maize and sunflower, is, however, the main focus in this farming enterprise.
Some 17 years ago they decided to buy their first Landini tractor, which they still have, and they purchased several additional Landini and McCormick tractors over the years. “The Landini 100 is suitable for most of the maize and sunflower production jobs. We use them for all our farming operations such as ploughing and pulling heavy implements,” Hannes says.
According to him, Landini tractors are all-round tractors that can be used to perform various farming tasks and on his farm are utilised for weed control, levelling, ploughing, harrowing, and pulling planters. “They are user-friendly and comfortable to drive with great ground clearance, easy to steer and the implements can be easily attached or detached.”
The biggest advantage, according to Hannes, is the price. “These tractors are very affordable and for what you get, extremely cost-effective. If you look after your tractors and do not abuse or modify them, they will last very long, making it a worthwhile transaction.”
“I will definitely recommend Landini to any farmer, not only in my area but in the entire country,” Hannes said.
