Karoo stock farmer relies on Landini

Although the nearest dealership is about 200 km from the farm Grootvlakte near Graaff-Reinet,

Lotter van Niekerk still remains a loyal client.

With the main focus on stock farming, Van Niekerk farms halfway between Aberdeen and Graaff-Reinet with Dohne Merino sheep, Boer goats, cattle and lucerne. One would think that tractors are not that important on a stock farm, but according to Van Niekerk tractors also play an important role in his business. He uses the tractors to rip and cultivate the lucerne fields and for general farm work.

Van Niekerk says he grew up with Landini tractors and his family has had a connection with Landini for about 5 decades.  And according to him, this will continue for the foreseeable future. “The tractors are light on fuel and this is especially helpful in the current environment with the high fuel prices. Overall Landini tractors are very economical and easy to maintain.”

He says the dealership’s service is also excellent but recommend that Landini looks into getting more dealerships in the Karoo because he believes they will grow their business with increased accessibility.
